WARRIOR REMINDER

Warrior Reminder is a therapeutic community dedicated to guiding you towards creating a harmonious and fulfilling relationship with yourself and others. Through our therapeutic tools, our goal is to help you love, accept yourself, and reclaim your inner power.

ABOUT US

Founded in 2020 by our visionary leader, Ash Alves, Warrior Reminder was born from a journey of personal triumph and introspection. Recognising the transformative potential of self-awareness and exploration, Ash embarked on a path towards embracing her true, empowered self. Now, her mission is to impart the lessons she's learned and the wisdom continuously gained to support others on their journey.

Our purpose is to be part of the solution in creating more community-led healing initiatives and to support you in doing inner work with others. The vision we share at Warrior Reminder is 'A world where self-actualisation is encouraged and systems are designed to support people in their process of healing and wellness.

OUR APPROACH

Integrative holistic healing

We infuse different modalities and technique to support your therapeutic journey. Some of the modalities that we use include CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Emotion-Focused work. We aim to work with the whole person - mind, body and soul. This is why we take a holistic integrative approach, to tend to your multifacted human beingness.

African-centred Psychology

We, at Warrior Reminder, believe that African-centred psychology provides a unique and rich framework for addressing psychological challenges. Following the principles that underpin African-centered psychology we believe in the following:

  • We are interconnected to the whole, this includes the environment, institutional systems and communities.

  • We promote holistic wellbeing because we recognise that all humans are interconnected to the whole; therefore they cannot be separated i.e. mental health issues have an impact on our physical health.

  • We recognise that disease can be a consequence of emotional, psychological and spiritual imbalance. We must seek to address the imbalance to experience harmony.

  • We are all connected and sparks of the divine.

  • We are responsible for each other and contributing to our community is part of our purpose.

  • We are curious about human beingness, making meaning out of life’s experiences.

  • We believe that everyone has a purpose and that we are on earth to align with our divinity.

  • We believe that the restoration of natural order is key to human development.

Intersectionality

We recognise that people don’t live single-issue lives. We take an intersectional approach, meaning that we acknowledge how various aspects of one’s identity intersect and interact with each other, leading to unique experiences of oppression and privilege for individuals with marginalised identities. This informs our work by ensuring that we acknowledge and use opportunities to bring in a nuanced perspective.
